Athletes of the Week 2017-2018

Oct. 16 to Oct. 22

Congratulations to Casey Schnell '18 (soccer) and Molly Fallek '19 (soccer).

Casey scored off a direct kick with a minute to play in second overtime to defeat Poly Prep 1-0. Molly contributed three of five goals in a win over Fieldston.

Oct. 9 to Oct. 15

Congratulations to Jamie Blankman '21 (soccer) and Julian Burden '19 (soccer).

Jamie scored the game winning goal to defeat Trinity in overtime 1-0. Julian scored both goals in a 2-0 win over Trinity.

Oct. 2 to Oct. 8

Congratulations to Audrey Wisch '19 (cross country) and Tobias Wolfson '20 (cross country).

Both had standout performances at the third Ivy League meet of the season. Audrey finished third overall, running a new 4K personal best of 17:03.35. Tobias finished first overall, running a new 4K school record of 13:27.14 and breaking his own record set earlier in the season.

Sept. 25 to Oct. 1

Congratulations to Lucy Pan '20 (field hockey) and Ryan Rosenzweig '18 (football).

Lucy was a defensive wall in the midfield against rival Horace Mann, allowing very few offensive opportunities in a 1-0 overtime win. Ryan had four rushing touchdowns in a 28-20 win over Montclair Kimberly Academy.

Sept. 18 to Sept. 24

Congratulations to Carolyn Brodsky '21 (tennis) and Drew Dworkin '18 (soccer).

After defeating Fieldston 4-1 as a team, Carolyn remains undefeated at the #1 singles spot. Drew had two goals in a close 3-2 win against Hackley, and four goals in a 6-2 win against Poly Prep.

Sept. 11 to Sept. 17

Congratulations to Tobias Wolfson '20 (cross country) and Olivia O'Toole '18 (volleyball).

Tobias finished first in the first Ivy League meet of the fall season, setting a new Riverdale 4K record of 13:33.93. Olivia contributed to a win against Avenues with six aces and four digs, finishing the game with an impressive 12 kills in 17 attempts with only two errors.

Sept. 4 to Sept. 10

Congratulations to Kylie Blitzer '20 (field hockey) and Tobias Wolfson '20 (cross country).

Kylie scored both goals in a close 2-1 win over Brearley. Tobias finished first overall out of 154 runners at the Somers Invitational, running a new school record of 16:34.73.
