Nine Win NYC Arts Awards

A Gold Key Award winner: Barbès-Rochechouart by Gwyneth Haidar '16, July 2014


 

Nine students have received recognition from The Scholastic Awards of New York City for writing and visual arts.

In the visual arts category, the winners are:
  • Gabby Herzig '17, a Gold Key and honorable mention for photography
  • Gwyneth Haider '16, a Gold Key and two honorable mentions for photography
  • Julia Attie '16, a Gold Key and two Silver Keys for photography
  • Catherine Pasquarelli '16, honorable mention for sculpture
  • Lauren Park '16, a Gold Key for mixed media

In the writing category, the winners are:

  • James Tien-Dana '16, a Gold Key for personal essay/memoir
  • Anna Attie '16, a Gold Key for short story and honorable mention for poetry
  • Ariana Nakhla '17, a Silver Key for personal essay/memoir
  • Stephanie Okun Shwartz '18, a Gold Key for personal essay/memoir, Silver Key for dramatic script, and honorable mentions for dramatic script, critical essay, flash fiction
Winners of the Gold Key and Silver Key awards will be honored at  ceremony on March 21st. Winners may select one Gold Key artwork to be displayed in a special exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art from March 16 to May 17.
