Art & Literary Magazine Receives Gold Crown Award

The 2013 edition of Impressions, Riverdale's art and literary magazine, has won the Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA) Gold Crown award, the highest award bestowed by the organization.
According to the CSPA website, "Crown Awards are the highest recognition given by the CSPA to a student print or digital medium for overall excellence. Crown Awards are judged at Columbia by panels of invited judges, working in groups to review all entries. The Crown process is more of a 'holistic' approach to judging the entire publication, as an informed reader would do. Publications are judged on design, photography, concept, coverage, and writing. The Medalist Critique process is a detailed 'dissection' of the publication, and the completed results are returned to the school with the judge's commentary written alongside the printed judging standards."
Congratulations to all of the students and faculty involved in this award-winning publication!
