The Bronx Times named Riverdale Country School athletics the "program of the year” in a year-end retrospective of Bronx high school sports.
"The Falcons were the borough’s dominant soccer school as its boys’ team claimed its first NYSAIS title since 2006," wrote Sports Editor Joseph Staszewski. "The girls reached their second straight final, only to fall in overtime. The Falcons boys’ hoops team made a run at a second straight NYSAIS Class B title before falling to Dwight in the final.”
The newspaper named Andrew Fitzgerald, Riverdale's boys varsity soccer coach, coach of the year.
"I couldn't be more proud of our student-athletes and coaches for receiving this award," said John Pizzi, Director of Athletics. "This is a tremendous honor and highlights the accomplishments from all of the 28 varsity teams."
