Director's Welcome

Thank you for your interest in Riverdale Country School. We hope you will enjoy exploring our website and learning about our school.

Our primary goal is to provide applicants and their families the opportunity to learn as much as possible about Riverdale and its programs. We will be supportive and helpful in answering questions and offering information, and we trust that you and your family will be patient and understanding of our school representatives.

Mind and Character The Admission Committees work hard to know all applicants as well as possible and carefully consider every piece of a student’s application, including the academic profile, the one-on-one interview, and the standardized testing. Riverdale students are expected to demonstrate honesty, self-discipline, resilience, and perseverance, as well as intellectual curiosity.

Community The diversity and character of our community makes Riverdale a dynamic institution. We remain committed to enrolling students who represent the population of the New York City area and conducting our admission process in a fair and equitable manner. We strive to balance each class with boys and girls of all ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

We look forward to meeting you and your family.
Jenna R. King
Director of Admission and Enrollment
