Capital and Endowment Giving

In addition to Annual Fund support, Riverdale seeks major gifts for endowment and capital needs, such as new and renovated facilities. Over the past decade, the school has raised more than $50,000,000 for various capital projects and the endowment.

Endowment investment is important for Riverdale’s continued excellence and stability. A strong endowment provides a dedicated, stable, and sizable funding source to continue to compensate its faculty at competitive levels, to create and enhance opportunities for faculty professional development, to assist in the establishment of new academic and extracurricular programs, and to provide sufficient financial assistance for students. Furthermore, a strong endowment provides the financial resources to accommodate unforeseen expenses and to take advantage of opportunities for educational innovation.

Riverdale's endowment of approximately $62 million (as of August 2015) is comprised of many gifts, including more than 50 named funds in excess of $25,000 that support faculty compensation and professional development, academic and extracurricular programs, and student financial assistance, as well as a large general endowment fund, which can be applied wherever the School needs support.

For more information about making a capital gift to Riverdale, adding to the general endowment or any of our existing endowed funds, or starting a new endowment, please be in touch with Bobbi Mark or Ann Grasing in the development office.
