The founder and director of The Center for Mind-Body Medicine in Washington, DC, presented a workshop for Upper School students at the 2014 One World Day, which focused on health and wellness.

September 30, 2014: Harrie Bakst '03 

Harrie Bakst '03, a founding partner of Weinstein Carnegie Philanthropic Group, spoke to Riverdale's Upper School students at an assembly on September 30, 2014. Bakst was invited to the school by Zawadi by Youth, a student-run group at Riverdale that makes microfinance loans to small businesses around the world.

June 10, 2014: Jennifer Pahlka '87
During Commencement 2014, Jennifer Pahlka, founder of Code for America and daughter of retiring longtime faculty member Bill Pahlka, addressed graduating seniors.


April 8, 2014: Ed Rendell '61
Former Pennsylvania governor Ed Rendell '61 returned to campus to discuss some of the points from his most recent book, A Nation of Wusses, at an Upper School assembly.


January 17, 2014: Carly Mensch '01
The first speaker in the Class of 1957 Alumni Speaker Series was Carly Mensch '01, a playwright who has also written for TV, most recently season six of Nurse Jackie. Carly addressed the Middle School in late January and also met informally with Upper School students in acting and film classes.
