| | At Riverdale, we try in every way to help students become more fluent and precise language users. We value the ability to write correctly, clearly, and thoughtfully. This is a critical skill, requiring mastery of the structures of English grammar and syntax, the opportunity to reflect often on important issues in life, and intense practice in composing and revising. We also value the visual and creative arts. So to help students at all grade levels hone their writing and design skills, we offer several opportunities to produce student publications.
At the Lower School, students write and edit their favorite piece of prose that they submit to The Rivulet, an annual Lower School publication. Middle School students have a newsletter, The Falcon Times, and also have the opportunity to work with Upper School students on the yearbook (The Riverdalian), The Riverdale Review newspaper, Impressions (the annual literary and art magazine), and Resolution (the annual photography showcase). |
