|Five Senior Athletes Honored with Awards|
In addition to handing out varsity letters and team MVP awards at the Spring Varsity Sports Awards Night recently, five special awards were handed out to deserving senior athletes as well.
|Riverdale Partners with Concussion Organization to Improve Player Health|
Riverdale is happy to announce a partnership with the Sports Legacy Institute (SLI) for the 2013-2014 academic year that includes ongoing work and consulting between SLI and Riverdale. The goal is to help better understand brain trauma in sports, and to develop a customized strategy to improve player health and wellness.
|Boys Varsity Basketball to Compete in New York State Playoffs|
In addition to winning the NYSAISAA (New York State Association of Independent Schools Athletic Association) championship and earning Co-Ivy League champion status, the boys varsity basketball team now has the chance to win the 2013 New York State Class B Federation Tournament of Champions.
|Boys Varsity Basketball Win Buzzell, are Co-Champs of Ivy League, #1 Seed in State Tourney|
Congrats to the Boys Varsity Basketball team, as well as Coach Andy Marinos and Assistant Coach Jordan Sims, on being the Co-Champions of the Ivy League and earning the number 1 seed in the state tournament, as well as their victory over Horace Mann in the annual Buzzell Game. The Falcons will play Hackley at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 28, to kick off the state tournament; the game takes place in the Marc A. Zambetti '80 Athletic Center.
|Girls Field Hockey Brings Home Ivy League Title|
The Girls Field Hockey team brought home the 2011 Ivy League title, finishing the season with a 13-4-1 record, including impressive wins over Horace Mann, Fieldston, and Hackley, among other teams. Go Falcons!
|Girls Varsity Soccer Wins NYSAISAA and Ivy League Titles|
Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Soccer team, which won its second-straight NYSAISAA title as well as this year’s Ivy League title. En route to the two titles, the team remained undefeated for the second-straight year, with a final record of 17-0-2. Riverdale has now won 38 straight games, and was ranked second in the city by the New York Post.
