Riverdale Seniors Commit to College Athletics

Natalia Mercedes Rodriguez '19 wins Scholastic Writing Award


Natalia Mercedes Rodriguez '19 won a Gold Key award from the 2018 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards for her poem "To The Conservancy Of Melting Pots." Her poem will be digitally exhibited in the Met until May 29, 2018 alongside other Gold Key winners.



Columbia junior Iman Blow '15 won the individual women's 2018 NCAA Fencing Championship. She is the 36th individual NCAA Champion in Columbia history. Click the link below for more coverage of Iman's championship win.

Judge Stephen Reinhardt '48 — appointed to the federal appeals court in 1980 — passed away on March 29, 2018, two days after his 87th birthday. Learn more about Judge Reinhardt's life below.



The Eighth Annual Career Networking Panel Discussion, The Business of Sports: A Conversation with Executives in the Athletic Industry, was held on Monday, April 23. The Riverdale Alumni Association Executive Committee (AAEC) helped organize the event. Over 100 people attended the panel discussion, which Josh Alper '94 moderated. Alper is a contributing writer and producer of Pro Football Talk on NBC Sports. The panelists included: Cipora Herman '91, former CFO, San Francisco 49ers; Andy MacPhail '72, president, Philadelphia Phillies; Jeff Pash P'14,'10, executive vice president, National Football League; Steve Tisch P'18,'18, co-owner of the New York Giants; and Andrew Lustgarten '95; P'29, president, The Madison Square Garden Company.


On April 19, three alumnae with careers in the medical field, came back to campus to discuss their individual professions. Students from grades 9-12 attended the panel discussion. Omari Ramirez '05, who is a member of the AAEC, moderated the event. Panelists included: Brooke Bayer '04, Psy.D., Pediatric Neuropsychologist; Emily Alter '07, RN, BSN, ONC; and Ashley Rainford '09, Doctoral Student.
