Summer Programs

The energy on the two campuses shifts significantly at the end of the school year, but the use of the spaces for learning, growth, exploration, and fun continues. The Riverdale Hill Campus is the home of one branch of ESF Summer Camps, in which many young Riverdale students participate.

If you visit the Lisman Laboratories in mid-July, you will see rising juniors and seniors actively engaging in our Summer Science Research Program.

Riverdale hosts our ever-expanding Knowmad program, which combines the best of the Riverdale faculty and the incredible resources of New York City. These programs are open to rising 5th through 12th graders from Riverdale as well as other schools.

Riverdale students also may take advantage of summer travel opportunities through our Global Programs and Outdoor Programs

Student Scientists

The Summer Science Research Program allows high school students to do original research on environmental stress experienced by native organisms.

Girls Who Code

Girls Who Code is a non-profit organization whose mission is to "close the gender gap in tech, one girl at a time." It was founded on the belief that computing skills are a critical path to security and prosperity in today’s job market, and that girls everywhere are united by their passion to use technology to make a positive impact on the world.

In summer 2018 Riverdale will partner with Girls Who Code to host their specialized summer program, Girls Who Code Campus. The following two-week sessions are offered:

  • Wearable Tech & Fashion Design: June 18–29, 2018

  • Website Design & Development: July 9–20, 2018
