A Riverdale faculty member and three student actors will present "How We GLOW" as part of the International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival next week.

Emily Schorr Lesnick '07, a member of the Riverdale theater department and the Community Engagement and Service Learning Teams, collaborated with Jamila Humphrie on "How We GLOW." The script is based on 21 interviews with lgbtq+ youth of diverse backgrounds. Each actor plays multiple roles.

GLOW, which refers to Gay, Lesbian or Whatever, is the name of a student group at Riverdale and other schools.

Four Irish student actors will also take part in the production.

"These student actors are true global citizens, carrying the stories of others with care across borders," said Lesnick. "To be able to share this play with Riverdale and to share this experience at an international festival is a humbling challenge and honor."
"How We GLOW" was first performed at Riverdale in 2016 and has been performed at more than two dozen schools and community spaces across the city and country.
