For his senior independent project, Brayan Lozano '16 designed an experiment to evaluate human factors in drone flight.
Brayan had learned the mechanics of building a drone from his sculpture teacher, and the physics of drone flight from his physics teacher. He wondered about how one might determine whether someone would be well suited to flying drones. He created a "black box" that he attached to a drone, and that calculated data about how an operator used controls and how the experience affected the operator's heart rate. He was able to import his data to a spread sheet for analysis.
In this video, Brayan explains his project.
