Jessica Frank '18 received a special Intel ISEF2017 award last week for her research project, "Towards Accurate Copy Number Calling in High Ploidy Tumors."
The event, which was held in Los Angeles, drew more than 2,000 high school students from 78 countries. Participants had earned the right to attend by winning a top prize at a local, regional, state or national science fair. Frank was one of 14 New York City students who took top honors at the NYC Science and Engineering Fair in March.
At ISEF, Frank's research received a $500 grand award for computational biology and bioinformatics. She also won a $750 first award from the Air Force Research Laboratory.
Earlier this year, Frank presented her research at the Riverdale Science Symposium and the American Association for the Advancement of Science annual meeting in Boston.
