Riverdale’s Athletics Department seeks a Boys Varsity Cross Country Head Coach who embodies the school’s values of sportsmanship, integrity, and balance. The coach will plan and lead daily practices focused on technique, strategy, conditioning, and safety; organize and supervise drills; stay current on sport trends; and collaborate with assistant coaches. Sous Chef
Riverdale Country School is seeking a sous chef to join the Culinary team. This is a full-time, exempt position that directly supervises Culinary team members. You will report to the Assistant Culinary Director and Culinary Director at your campus. The Sous Chef is responsible for supervising the execution of the preparation and cooking of all food items for daily foodservice and special events. The ideal candidate will help facilitate and cultivate the spirit of farm to table food. You will help contribute to the structure and organization of our current culinary program. MS/US Visual Arts Department: Assistant Teaching/Shop Technician – Middle & Upper School Maker Space
Riverdale Country School seeks a full-time Assistant Teaching/Shop Technician to support our Middle and Upper School Maker Space. This role is ideal for someone passionate about hands-on learning and excited to work alongside faculty and students to bring creative, three-dimensional art and design projects to life. We are looking for a collaborative, technically skilled individual who enjoys problem-solving and working in a dynamic educational environment.
The Assistant Teaching/Shop Technician will work closely with teaching faculty to provide logistical, technical, and instructional support during classes and open studio time. Candidates should be comfortable working with students of varying ages and skill levels and be enthusiastic about helping young makers develop their ideas into fully realized projects.
Middle & Upper School Outdoor Educator
The MS/US Outdoor Educator plays a vital role in fostering a love for nature among Middle and Upper School students, reporting directly to the Director of Experiential and Place-Based Learning. This position encompasses the design and leadership of engaging outdoor experiences that align with the school’s educational goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong outdoor skills, a commitment to safety, and a deep understanding of experiential education, enabling them to create enriching environments that inspire students to explore and appreciate the natural world.
Key responsibilities include developing and implementing grade-wide experiences in collaboration with Division Heads, Deans, and the Director of Experiential and Place-Based Programs, ensuring that each activity achieves aligned learning outcomes. The educator will also design and lead weekend outdoor activities, such as day trips and overnight adventures. Utilizing and maintaining the on-site natural rock wall, they will lead rock climbing programs, teaching climbing techniques and safety protocols. Additionally, the Outdoor Educator will support the Director in leading spring break and summer expeditions while collaborating with the Alumni Office and Parents Association to craft outdoor experiences for the broader community.

Production Cook
Riverdale Country School seeks a Production Cook to join our culinary team. The cook is to assist in the preparation of meals in the kitchen under the guidance and direction of the Executive Sous Chef and the management team. Stipends
All employees are eligible for Frankel Fellow grants, known as “passion grants,” which pay for enrichment activities. More than 120 grants have been made to faculty and staff since the program started in 2014. Stipends are available for a number of projects and activities that extend beyond the commitments of the contract. After 10 years, faculty are eligible for a sabbatical. You can take a half-year sabbatical at full pay or a full-year sabbatical at half-pay. (Or, you can take a payout of a half-year’s salary while you continue working.)
