Lower School Homebase Associate Teacher (2024-2025)

Riverdale Country School is seeking Homebase Associate Teachers for the 2024-2025 school year.

Associate Teachers at Riverdale are members of a three-year cohort program designed for individuals who are in the early stages of their careers as educators. Associate Teachers work alongside a Head Teacher to support a homebase class of students for the full year. Associate Teachers are predominantly involved in supporting students through small group or 1:1 instruction, though certainly have opportunities to lead full-group lessons. As full-time faculty members, Associate Teachers are also members of grade-level teams that engage in frequent collaboration related to planning, instruction, and assessment directly connected to student learning.

In addition to the intensive, hands-on, teaching experience, Associate Teachers also receive ongoing professional development. These opportunities are geared toward strengthening foundational teaching practices as well as supporting individuals in their pursuit of future career opportunities. Associate Teachers may remain at Riverdale a maximum of three years and are supported in their pursuit of other opportunities beyond their time at the school.

Middle and Upper School Technical Director/Teacher

Riverdale Country School is seeking an enthusiastic and collegial Technical Director in our Theater, Dance, and Film Department. In addition to being the Technical Director for our main stage productions, this person will teach two courses and work closely with our existing full-time Technical Theater Teacher to develop the curriculum and oversee the student-run crew.

Our technical theater curriculum includes five classes/levels for grades 8-12.  The outcomes are structured and scaffolded to provide artistic and personal growth opportunities for each student throughout the program. This is achieved through hands-on projects related to the production of the department’s co-curricular season in which every technical theater student builds each show, and the more advanced students take on design and production leadership roles.

Additionally, and with the support of the other full-time Technical Theater Teacher, this position manages the Jeslo Harris Theater and general school events.
