In partnership with the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education, Riverdale hires teaching fellows in various disciplines for two-year positions each fall. Fellows are mentored throughout their time at Riverdale, co-teach or teach courses in Middle and/or Upper School, serve as an advisory “home base” teacher and participate in numerous aspects of school life while taking graduate classes and pursuing a master’s degree at Penn GSE.
Fellows earn their master’s degree in education (M.S. Ed) during the course of the program. Their tuition is shared by the fellow (20%) and Riverdale (80%). Aspects of the program also include:
- A blended learning curriculum
- A peer group of fellows at other day schools
- Four in-person meetings each year
- Hotel and transportation costs shared by Riverdale and University of Pennsylvania

This year, Riverdale will hire two new Penn fellows. Currently, we have one fellow position open in the Computer Science department—the other position will be posted within the next two weeks, so please stay tuned. An academic transcript, though not required as part of the initial application, will be requested following the interview should there be mutual interest between the candidate and Riverdale.
