Riverdale Community Action Day (RCAD) brings together alumni, parents, students, and faculty to support local community organizations and Riverdale’s commitment to service-learning. RCAD’s mission is to take direct action and to meaningfully engage with our community through collective collaborations. This helps teach Riverdale students of every age the power and importance of giving and gratitude.
RCAD returns to the Riverdale Hill Campus on Saturday, November 19th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The entire Riverdale community – even the youngest Falcons – are invited to join this day of service.
To make transportation easier, shuttle buses to the Hill Campus are available for pickup at 10:00 am from 96th & Broadway and 96th & Park.
Here are the details about this year’s RCAD community partners and how to participate:
Challenged Athletes Foundation
The organization provides opportunities and support to people with physical challenges, so they can pursue active lifestyles through physical fitness and competitive athletics. CAF believes that involvement in sports at any level increases self-esteem, encourages independence, and enhances quality of life. Sign up here to participate!
The Friendly Fridge
The Friendly Fridge Foundation works to end food insecurity in the Bronx. Donate new/used backpacks or duffel bags, sweatpants, sweatshirts, and winter accessories. Bring them with you to RCAD. All are welcome to help package meals for our neighbors!
Hebrew Home for the Aged
Advocates for older adults to ensure their lives are fully lived. Come paint flower pots and plant flowers that will be delivered to residents at the Hebrew Home!
Help make the holidays special by purchasing items from the wishlist of this public school. We will work together to wrap them during RCAD.
- mail items to Rachel Horowitz, 5250 Fieldston Road, Bronx, NY 10471
- mail items to your home and drop them off in the collection bins on the Lower School campus at the flagpole during arrival

We are thrilled for the community to come together, and look forward to seeing you and your family!
