We encourage students to become independent thinkers and autonomous learners and, to help them do that, we provide assistance in all facets of their development: academic, social, emotional, and physical. Our student support system is proactive and focuses on each individual student’s development as a whole person.
Each Middle School grade has a dean who knows every student well. Homebase teachers assist the dean by meeting frequently with small groups of students. Our Learning Research Team provides assistance with study skills and learning strategies. Peer tutors and peer mentors help connect older and younger students so they can learn from each other. Our Math Center and Writing Center allow for one-on-one collaboration between students and teachers.
To support our students’ overall wellness, our full-time nurse, our full-time counselor, and our part-time psychologist consult regularly with students, parents and the faculty, ensuring that no child falls through the cracks.
Coming into Their Own
Middle School is a time of physical, intellectual, and emotional growth.
