ABC-CLIO American History
American History investigates the people, events, and themes of our nation’s evolution.  The American History database contains nearly 15,000 primary and secondary sources, including overview essays, biographies, government and court documents, photos, maps, audio/video clips, statistics.  Over 100 topical overviews and nearly 3,300 biographies of famous political and military figures as well as fascinating people from across American society.

ARTstor is a nonprofit digital library of more than one million images in the arts, architecture, humanities, and social sciences.  The ARTstor community-built collections are contributions from museums, photographers, libraries, scholars, photo archives, and artists and artists' estates.

InfoTrac Newsstand provides access to more than 1,000 major U.S. regional, national and local newspapers as well as leading titles from around the world.

Gale Virtual Reference Library provides access to electronic reference books.

Gale's Academic OneFile
This database contains over 12,000 journals and reference sources, many of which are peer-reviewed and full text. It has extensive coverage of the physical sciences, technology, medicine, and social sciences. The database also contains some full text titles that are cited in databases such as AGRICOLA, CINAHL, EconLit, ERIC, MEDLINE, MLA International Bibliography, PsycINFO and others.

Gale's General OneFile
This general periodical database contains over 12,000 periodicals, newspapers, reference books and multimedia sources, over half of which are full text. The backfile extends nearly 30 years. Subjects include humanities, education, environmental issues, technology, health care, politics and more.

Gale's Opposing Viewpoints In Context
Opposing Viewpoints in Context covers today’s hottest social issues including 14,000 pro/con viewpoint essays, more than 300 primary source documents, 300 biographies of social activists and reformers, more than 775 court-case overviews, 5 million periodical articles, statistical tables, charts and graphs, 70,000 images, and podcast.

Grove Art Online (Oxford Art Online)
Oxford Art Online offers access to an expanding range of acclaimed art reference works including: Grove Art Online, the Benezit Dictionary of Artists, the Encyclopedia of Aesthetics, The Oxford Companion to Western Art, and The Concise Oxford Dictionary of Art Terms. Many specially commissioned articles and bibliographies are also available exclusively online.

Grove Music Online
Oxford Music Online offers users the ability to access and cross-search multiple music reference resources in one location. With Grove Music Online as its cornerstone, Oxford Music Online also contains The Oxford Companion to Music (revised 2011), which offers more than 8,000 articles on composers, performers, conductors, instruments and notation, forms and genres, and individual works; and The Oxford Dictionary of Music, 2nd edition (revised 2006), which supplements Grove's more-extensive articles.

Health Reference Center Academic (Gale)
This health database includes over 2800 journals and magazines, many of which are full text. It contains nursing and allied health journals, other medical journals, newsletters and consumer health magazines.

Historical New York Times
This historical newspaper provides genealogists, researchers and scholars with online, easily-searchable first-hand accounts and unparalleled coverage of the politics, society and events of the time.

Issues and Controversies in American History (Facts on File)
Issues and Controversies in American History is an educational database delivering concise coverage that provides the background, outcome, and contemporary points of view for every major debate and conflict in American history. All articles feature multiple primary sources, essential to understanding our nation's past. In addition, all articles have been indexed to key subjects such as immigration, politics and government, race and civil rights, religion, war and military.

Library Catalog
A database of RCS library holdings including works of fiction, non-fiction, poetry and art as well as videos, books-on-tape and links to websites that are relevant to the school curriculum. This database is searchable by subject, title, and author. Members of the RCS community should feel free to contact a librarian if they would like to recommend specific materials for our collection.

Project MUSE
Project MUSE is a unique collaboration between libraries and publishers, providing 100% full-text, affordable and user-friendly online access to a comprehensive selection of prestigious humanities and social sciences journals. Journals are heavily indexed and peer-reviewed, with critically acclaimed articles by the most respected scholars in their fields. MUSE provides full-text versions of titles from many of the world's leading university presses and scholarly societies. Currently, there are over 400 titles representing nearly 100 not-for-profit publishers.

Proquest Central K-12 (Including The New York Times)
This online collection provides one-stop access to more than 8,000 scholarly journals, magazines, and newspapers — with over 6,200 titles in full text.  The articles in this continuously-growing database provide global coverage of a wide range of subjects: business, education, general reference, health, language arts, sciences, social sciences, and many other curriculum-specific subject areas.

ProQuest Science Journals
With coverage dating back to 1986, ProQuest Science Journals features over 1,145 titles—with more than 965 available in full text. In full-text format, researchers have access to all the charts, diagrams, graphs, tables, photos, and other graphical elements so vital to scientific and technical literature. These journals cover hundreds of topics relating to all major fields of study, including:  Physics, Engineering, Astronomy, Biology, Earth Science, Chemistry, and more.

From Elsevier Science Publishers, one of the world’s largest research databases: over 1,700 journals with millions of peer-reviewed articles. For off-campus access to this database you must get an individual password from your librarian.

Science Online
Science Magazine provides the full text of the journal's news stories, research reports, and commentary articles in a searchable database, enhanced by additional information, links, multimedia, and user services, as well as a database of scientific-product information.

Science Reference Center (EBSCO)
Science Reference Center™ is a comprehensive research database that provides access to a multitude of full-text science-oriented content. It contains full text for hundreds of science encyclopedias, reference books, periodicals, and other sources.  Topics covered include: biology, chemistry, earth & space science, environmental science, health & medicine, history of science, life science, physics, science & society, science as inquiry, scientists, technology and wildlife.

Testing & Education Reference Center (TERC) is designed to help students — in high school, graduate school, and specialty school and beyond — make their future education decisions easier. U.S. History in Context (Gale)
U.S. History in Context provides a complete overview of U.S. history that covers the events, issues and current information.  It combines documents from Primary Source Microfilm’s™ digital archives, articles from classic Macmillan Reference USA™ and Charles Scribner’s Sons® references.  Other Gale proprietary content such as country and era overview information and full-text periodicals and journals are also included.
